The purpose of providing a personalized financial plan
is to illustrate, for the client, the most effective use of their financial
resources so they can accomplish their short- and long-term goals. Parts
of a financial plan may include:
A written plan and financial projections are presented
and modified as necessary. An action list is created that reflects the
tasks to be performed to implement the agreed-upon plan. Follow up is
ongoing, and continues until the plan is implemented. Regular reviews
are scheduled to ensure that each client stays on track.
Active Investment Management
Godfrey Financial Associates uses no-load mutual funds along with individual
securities as the primary investment vehicles. The funds are held in
an account in the client's name. The professionals at Godfrey Financial
Associates create an individualized Investment Policy Statement for
each client, and purchases and sells investments in clients' accounts
based on their personal investment strategy. The firm is compensated
via a management fee charged each quarter to the investment account.
Investments can be quickly adjusted to meet client life changes or
a sudden change in income needs.

At Godfrey Financial Associates, we dare to be excellent. Throughout
our company’s history, we’ve never been satisfied just being “ordinary.” Instead,
we strive to be extraordinary.
On June 28, 2007, Kathleen Godfrey was awarded the prestigious Woman
of Excellence Award by the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Below is an excerpt from her acceptance speech:
What exemplifies “excellence?” Perhaps you’ve heard
the story of two woodsmen who live—where else?—in the woods.
Both woodsmen make their living by cutting down trees and sawing the
trees into lumber.
For a while, each woodsman does about the same amount
of work, and earns about the same amount of money.
But over time, one woodsman notices that the other is much more productive—he’s
able to cut down more trees and make more lumber. And—he also
takes time off every day. Imagine that!
What’s the difference between the two woodsmen? One of them—the
more productive one—takes time every day to sharpen his saw. By
sharpening his saw, he’s able to produce more work, with less
effort, in less time.
The other woodsman—the one with the dull blade—realizes
this, but he never takes the time to sharpen his saw. He’s so far
behind, yet he continues to work with his dull blade fearing he’ll
never be able to catch up. And so, throughout the rest of his career,
he never reaches his potential.
Sharpening your saw requires commitment: to yourself, to
your career, to your business and to your community.
For some, that commitment is professional;
for others, it’s personal.
Whatever it takes, I encourage you to never stop sharpening your saw.
With a sharp saw, you will always stay focused and always stay on top
of your game.
